PHOTOTHERAPY

  • Excimer
    This laser concentrates a single band of ultraviolet B (UVB) light on psoriasis, eczema, or vitiligo lesions. It penetrates the skin and breaks the DNA of the T cells, which are what have multiplied to create psoriasis plaques. The 308-nanometer wavelength produced by this laser was found to be the most effective in clearing psoriasis lesions.

  • Phototherapy
    Phototherapy uses lightwaves to treat certain skin conditions. The skin is exposed to an ultraviolet (UV) light for a set amount of time. Phototherapy uses a man-made source of UV light. UV light also comes from the sun. Psoriasis — a skin disorder that causes red, silvery, scaly patches on the skin. Skin conditions that are treated with phototherapy Psoriasis, Eczema, Mycosis fungoides, and vitiligo.
